Social media is evolving quickly, and many of us have a love/hate relationship with it. But what if you didn’t spend your energy worrying about the algorithm and instead found a way that works for you, one that helps you connect in a way that feels good?

If there’s one thing that’s constantly evolving, it’s social media. So many business owners are looking for ways to do it differently, and others are exiting it completely. That’s why I invited today’s guest Andréa Jones, who’s been leading the way in a conversation about how we can use social media more mindfully.

One of my favorite things about social media is my conversations as part of the community on different platforms. I’ve been able to connect with so many people in a way that’s been meaningful, yet it’s too easy to get wrapped up in BS measures of success.

When Andréa started a conversation in late 2023 about how she was thinking about social media, it captured my attention. In our conversation, she offers a refreshingly honest perspective on boundaries, the pressure of being a social media strategist and the building of genuine connections with people on the other side of the screen.

Here’s what we covered in our conversation:

  • The importance of aligning your work with your values for long-term satisfaction and fulfillment.
  • Setting boundaries and privacy in the digital age, including what Andréa shares and doesn’t share.
  • How Andréa’s business and viewpoint have been evolving, and why she made a point of sharing them publicly as she thought them through.
  • Her focus on conversations and conceptual topics over tactical strategies as part of social media.
  • Andréa’s transition from a solo business to an agency and why having a team was essential when managing social media.
  • There are specific ways the social media landscape is evolving, and content creation is no longer the sole focus.
  • Why is evolving and adapting your approach to social media crucial, and why is there no one-size-fits-all solution?
  • Why transparency and authenticity are key in building trust with your audience and standing out in a crowded online space.
  • What’s in Andréa’s future vision as a facilitator and shining a light on other experts.

About Andréa:

When personality-driven brands with limited time and social media know-how hit a plateau in growing their business on social media, they don’t call it quits. They call on their social media wing-woman to guide them the rest of the way.

Andréa Jones owns OnlineDrea, a savvy social media squad dedicated to using the perfect union of science and creativity to elevate their clients’ voices in the loud and crowded world of social media marketing.

Taking over the heavy lifting for her clients (creating industry heavyweights in the process) with her award-winning agency while creating hundreds of social media superstars in her Savvy Social School training community is why brands continue to trust Andrea to elevate their online impact and learn how to build their own social media savvy.

As much as Andréa loves sitting in client strategy meetings or teaching new skills in the school, her heart will always be with her growing family. Spending time with her husband and daughter in beautiful Niagara Falls, Canada keeps her grounded and motivated to serve those who need her most.
