How the Staying Solo Squad Helped Stacy Braga Rebuild a Simpler, Stronger Business

When Stacy Braga,  copywriter and owner of stacybraga.com. joined the Staying Solo Squad in April 2025; her business wasn’t working the way she wanted.

Like many experienced service providers, she had already invested heavily in coaching. But she found herself overwhelmed by conflicting advice and felt disconnected from her own instincts.

“I’d spent a lot of money on business coaches. It was a lot of people telling me what I had to do,” she shared.

After stepping away from coaching, what she noticed most was the absence of something else entirely: community.

“It got really lonely. I really missed having a group of people to learn from and just having a space to talk about what’s going on.”

Stacy was looking for a connection and advice that actually aligned with her values.

“I needed realistic business advice from real people, and a sense of community that I felt like I was missing.”

Replacing Overwhelm with Structure

One of the first shifts Stacy experienced inside the Squad wasn’t a complete business overhaul; it was something simpler, but more impactful — structure.

Before, every new lead or sales conversation had to start from scratch. Inside the Squad, she began documenting and refining her process, building the right foundations for her business to feel easier.

“Sitting down and writing out my actual sales process was super helpful. I’m not reinventing the wheel every single time.”

Now, instead of second-guessing every step, she has a repeatable system she can rely on.

“Every time I have a new lead… I open that Google Doc, and I’m like, what do I do every single time? Just follow the steps.”

That shift alone reduced decision fatigue and created consistency, two things that had been missing before.

Simplifying Without Starting Over

If there’s one theme that defines Stacy’s time in the Squad, it’s simplification.

“I think the biggest thing for me is making everything simpler.”

Before joining, she felt pulled in multiple directions. She was constantly trying different strategies, platforms, and tactics because she thought she “had to.”

A turning point came when she realized she didn’t.

“I was like, I don’t want to be on Instagram, and Maggie said, ‘Stacy, no, you don't need to do that.’”

That permission to opt out of what didn’t fit allowed Stacy to rebuild her marketing in a way that actually worked for her. Instead of trying to do everything, the focus became on making strategic decisions that directly supported her long-term business goals.

“I feel like I basically burnt down my marketing. I asked myself, if I don’t want to do this, how do I create something simpler?”

From there, she streamlined her entire suite of offers.

“I now have three offers, they’re very clearly outlined, and that’s made it a lot easier to plan my marketing.”

Instead of chasing every idea, she now has focus and a path forward.

A Community That Feels Like Home

Beyond helping her simplify and solidify the foundational pieces of her business, the Squad delivered something Stacy had been missing for years: a real connection.

“I’ve met a lot of really cool people in the Squad, and I’ve gotten to connect with some of them in real life.”

Those relationships didn’t stay surface-level; they actually became part of her real-world support system.

“I go out to lunch once a month with one of the other Squad members who lives close to me.”

Within the group, she found an environment where asking for help feels natural rather than intimidating.

“It doesn’t feel like there are any dumb questions. Everybody is always really supportive.”

Unlike other communities where she felt like the most experienced person in the room, the Squad challenged and supported her in equal measure.

“I don’t want to be that ‘go-to’ person all the time. I want to have other people to ask.”

That peer support proved valuable in handling real-time business challenges.

“When I’m trying to work through something, I could have sat there and festered on this thing, but instead I get advice from people who have been there before.”

Even passively, the community helped her feel less alone.

“Sometimes I don’t even have the capacity to put into words something I’m dealing with, but someone else does, and then I feel so much better.”

For Stacy, the Squad isn’t just another program; it’s a different way of doing business.

“It doesn’t feel like a giant group. It’s very supportive and very community-focused.”

That sense of belonging has made it easier for her to engage, share, and grow, even though she doesn’t typically speak up in large groups.

“I’m not usually somebody who will post in big groups, but I’ve never felt any hesitation in the Squad.”

Creating Clarity Through Strategic Simplification

Interestingly, Stacy measures her progress differently than most.

“Even though I’m making less money this year, I feel like I have a lot more clarity on what my business is and where I want it to go.”

That clarity came directly from simplifying her business and aligning it with her values.

“It’s because of all of that simplification I’ve done with the support of the Squad.”

For Stacy, this isn’t a step backward. It’s a strategic reset that sets her up for more sustainable growth. After a year in the Staying Solo Squad, Stacy’s business looks different. She now has:

  • Simplified offers and marketing.
  • A structured, repeatable sales process.
  • Clearer direction and decision-making.
  • Stronger boundaries around what she doesn’t want to do.
  • A trusted community of peers she can rely on.

And perhaps, most importantly, she’s no longer building her business alone.
