How Camille Galles Turned Her Freelance Hustle into a Thriving Micro Agency with 94% Revenue Growth

When Camille Galles, Founder and Principal of the marketing agency Quintet Creative, first joined the Micro Agency Mastermind in late 2021, she was in the early stages of her freelance journey.

She had stumbled into a full client load, but her business felt chaotic, inconsistent, and isolating. “It always felt like a rollercoaster,” Camille recalls. “I had never actually worked in an agency before—I was new to marketing, new to client services, and I was calling my mom for advice on how to deal with tricky clients.”

The Turning Point: Seeking Strategy, Structure, and Support

Camille found Maggie Patterson’s podcasts — Confessions of a Micro Agency Owner and Staying Solo — through a mentor and quickly connected with her “no BS” approach to agency life. After trying a low-cost training on sales calls, she was convinced the Mastermind might be the strategic support she needed.

“I remember thinking, ‘Okay, this is going to be the investment in my business.’ I knew I wanted to build an agency, but I was doing a lot of client work that didn’t align with what I actually wanted to offer. I was about 70% of the way there and I needed help getting to 100%.”

Building the Foundation: Revenue, Team, and Confidence

Three years later, the transformation is clear. From 2022 to 2024, Camille’s gross revenue increased by 94% which is a reflection of both smart strategy and sustainable growth. She now runs a thriving micro agency with a diverse team and a values-aligned client base.

“When I started, we weren’t even hitting $100K annually. But more than the revenue, I feel in control. I’m not doing everything anymore. I’ve built a real team.”

Camille went from managing everything herself to leading a team of five regular contributors, including her trusted second-in-command. “I used to look for one person to do everything. Now, I hire specialists—a writer, a video editor, and a content coordinator. And I’ve been able to retain key team members for years, which I see as a testament to what I’ve learned in the mastermind.”

Client Work That Aligns with Her Vision

One of the most meaningful shifts Camille experienced was in the type of clients she now attracts.

“I used to feel constantly stressed by client dynamics. Now, I work with clients who respect me and want the work I actually want to do, such as social media strategy and communications for nonprofits, healthcare, and educational organizations. I don’t feel like I’m compromising anymore.”

She credits much of this shift to the way the Mastermind helped her refine her sales messaging and set better boundaries. “I’m now having sales calls where clients say, ‘Yes, this is exactly what we’re looking for.’ That used to feel so far away.”

The Maggie Factor: Hands-On, Honest, and Strategic

For Camille, having Maggie in her corner has been a game-changer.

“Having Maggie in my pocket is amazing. She gives real feedback—not just ‘follow your heart’ stuff. She’s looked at my proposals, budgets, pricing, and even helped me prep for tough client conversations.”

Whether it’s helping Camille raise her rates or guiding her through hiring and leadership moments, Maggie’s strategic insight and direct support have helped Camille scale with clarity and confidence.

“I’ve made more money because Maggie told me that the price was too low. Her advice is always tailored. It’s never one-size-fits-all. She actually understands my business, and that makes all the difference.”

The Power of Community

The Mastermind community also played a significant role in Camille’s evolution from referrals to relationships, culminating in the shared experience of running a micro agency.

“When I first joined, I’d leave calls thinking, ‘Everyone’s ahead of me. I’m barely hanging on.’ Now I look around and realize I’m swimming in the same water. I’ve caught up.”

Through her time in the Micro Agency Mastermind, she’s formed long-term collaborations, received client referrals, and learned from other agency owners facing the same challenges.

“It’s such a unique group. I’ve gotten help with project management, team feedback, and tough client issues. And just seeing what’s possible from other members helped me believe I could get there too.”

Growth with Purpose: Rebranding and Reinvention

One of Camille’s proudest milestones was rebranding to Quintet Creative, complete with a new name, website, and visual identity.

“I was able to make a $15,000 investment in rebranding because of the foundation the mastermind helped me build. I never would’ve had the confidence or the cash flow to do that before.”

She also transitioned from a sole proprietor to an S corp, reinforcing her agency’s structure and longevity.

When asked what she would tell someone considering the Micro Agency Mastermind, Camille didn’t hesitate:

“Absolutely join. You will not regret this. It’s not just about growing your business—it’s about building one that supports your life. Maggie focuses on what actually matters, not trends or fluff. Just solid strategy, smart decisions, and real support.”
