Chrissie Wywrot Carves out Her Niche
Meet Chrissie Wywrot, president and CEO of e-link Consulting. Chrissie works as a marketing consultant helping businesses gain visibility on LinkedIn and generate leads and nurture their content marketing practice.
After going into business in 2016, it was during the following year that her business really began to take off. As her business began to grow rapidly, Chrissie could see there were some cracks in the foundation that would need to be addressed if she wanted to have a sustainable plan for the long term.
As Chrissie explains, “I needed tangible business advice from someone who had actually been there and could help me figure out if I was going in the right direction. You’re so close to everything in your business, and you see the positives, so I wanted the perspective of an outsider.”
Having heard about the Double It Mastermind (now the Agency Mastermind for 2020) from a few business friends, she decided to see if joining the group might provide the direction and support she was looking for.
“I checked out the Small Business Boss podcast, and I loved Maggie’s no BS approach. So then I took the opportunity to hop on a group call Maggie was doing and also looked at the tools and resources she makes available for small business owners. Based on what I saw, plus the endorsement from people I trusted, I decided I was going to just go for it and join the mastermind.”
Change Your Mindset, Change Your Business
As with any small business owner, the road to success for Chrissie was not always smooth. It was at her first mastermind retreat in 2018 that she realized it wasn’t just her business, but also her mindset that was going to need some extra attention.
“Maggie’s willingness to deal with all my mindset issues has been huge. She reminds me of what I’ve done and how far I’ve come. She’s kept me in touch with the reality of how successful I’ve actually been. She’s stuck with me through mindset issues and is there through thick and thin. That, in particular, has been so helpful.”
With both her business strategy and mindset being worked on, Chrissie was able to see huge gains in her business.
“The most impactful changes to my business since I joined the mastermind have been behind-the-scenes and learning the best practices for how to operate as a business. I went into the mastermind feeling like I didn’t have a real business because I was completely flying by the seat of my pants. Maggie came in and guided me towards figuring out what my front of house focus should be. She could see I was fighting, it but she knew it was what I needed to do. And she was 100% right because it’s working out very well for me.”
Having a group of peers that she can rely on for support and encouragement has been instrumental to Chrissie meeting her business goals, and the community also acts as a sounding board (and reality check!) when she needs it.
“One of the things I love about working with Maggie and the rest of the mastermind group is that they tell me no. They remind me to stop thinking about what I think I ‘should’ be doing. They reinforce decisions when I’m moving in the right direction. They tell me when they think I’m getting sucked into things that are a distraction.”
When I asked Chrissie what she would tell someone who is considering joining the mastermind, here’s what she had to say.
“I really appreciate the fact that Maggie’s deeply committed to you when you’re in this mastermind, and it’s all at an accessible price point when compared with other masterminds at this level. The entire goal for her is to pay it forward and to help other business owners achieve what they’re looking to achieve. She’s not looking to take advantage of me for money or notoriety. She just genuinely wants to help me make my business succeed, and she’s got my best interests in mind — no matter what.”
