Here’s to being slow, steady and sustainable…🐢

This week I’m celebrating NINE years since launching my first podcast. (And a special shoutout to those of you who remember the Marketing Moxie show!)

I wanted to share a bit of my journey as it’s s testament to doing something for years, and I’ve learned a lot along the way.

In a world that’s all about FAST AND FRESH AND NEW all the time, we need more examples of content and building a business that’s about the slow burn.

That’s what’s sustainable for most of us, and it’s what builds lasting trust with your community.

Honestly? Podcasting has been one of my fave biz projects of all time, and there’s so much more to come.

🔥 Duped: The Dark Side of Online Business returns on Feb 20th. @drmichellemazur and I have some fun new things in store.

🔥 The BS-Free Service Business Show returns March 6th. We'll be talking VIP Days, retainers, boundaries, NLP and so much more.

🔥 Trusted: Alternatives to the BS of Online Business is a limited series podcast that you can listen to any time for tangible alternatives to the hot garbage marketing/sales tactics.

Until then, you can check all of the shows out where ever you get your podcasts.

How can someone not running a done-for-you service How can someone not running a done-for-you services business teach you how to run yours?

How can someone who’s not offered these kinds of services and does “coaching” now know what really works?

How can someone who just started offering services a year ago after trash-talking services for years be trusted?

Just a few questions I have about what’s going on right now when it comes to people teaching done-for-you service providers.

As always, you do you, but I don’t trust these people even a little bit.

Service businesses are not static, what worked two years ago may not work now. And so much of what I see being taught is FLUFFY as all get out.

It’s big money promises and BS formulas based on something that worked five-plus years ago.

You don’t need more fluff. You need foundations. You need up-to-date guidance from people who know what’s up.

If you’re looking for that kind of support as a service business owner, welcome to my slice of the world.

🔥The BS-Free Service Business is a good place to start - there are 100s of episodes waiting for you.
💸 I SPENT $100,000 on coaching last year… De 💸 I SPENT $100,000 on coaching last year…

Definitely not me...but the coaches in my IG feed love to tell me how much money they’ve spent.

I’m talking about more than most people make in a single year type of money. Money that I don’t see C-level executives dishing up for legit coaching.

It’s everywhere. And it’s messing with all of us as we think we must spend the same way to be “successful.”

This is the ultimate in the “I did it, and you can too” fuckery of online coaching and business.

This story has one job, and that’s to convince you that you need to invest big bucks to be able to grow your business.

That’s it. And guess who’s telling this story?

The people selling these high ticket programs to you.

Don’t get me wrong. Is there a time and place for business support? YES.
Just not in the ways these clowns sell it to us, and it doesn’t have to be a five or six-figure investment to impact our business.

Especially when so many of these high-ticket investments only waste our time and money and leave us emotionally messed up.

If you want to share your experiences, I’m surveying to collect research on the current state of spending and investing in courses, programs, coaching and more.

You can fill it out at the 🔗 in my bio.
We've got a new name - bye-bye boss branding... H We've got a new name - bye-bye boss branding...

Hello, a name that's way more aligned with how we do things around here.

Not much will change around here aside from the new handle @bsfreebusiness and a new website URL coming soon.

A huge thanks to everyone on our team making this happen - it's been a two-year-plus process from legal to design to talking me off the edge.

I'll share more about why I'm so over bossing anything soon, but in the meantime, thank you for all of you for being here.
